About myself
I was born in 1963 and so lucky to have parents (i think my dad was the first trekkie in the family) allowing me to watch Star TREK when it first aired in germany. eversince, I was fascinated by this tv show (my favourite, however, is deep space nine) that inspired me to build my first lego spaceships and draw pen&paper deckplans of Ships and spacestations. once i had my first atari computer, i played around with 3d software creating 3d spaceships. over the many decades (and different versions of autodesk 3d studio still running under dos), I found my preferred tool in Wings3d, (a free subdivision modeler).
-
All Spaceships shown in the TGC SHipYARD SECTION WERE CREATED IN WINGS3D; AS this tool has a build-in smooth option, i also used it to create aliens and spaceships with a more organic look&feel.
-
As a render tool, I initially used Bryce, creating first the landscape and afterwards loading the exported obj 3d mesh into the scene; i also gave mojoworld 3 a shot, however, both applications for my taste simply lack rendering speed (Although the final results are quite amazing). The spaceship 9 views in the tgc-shipyard section were all created in cinema 4d R10 (sure this is not the state of the art release but it does the trick fast und with the right quality for my purposes).
-
hull textures/markings as well as the dorsal blueprints have been created in corel draw R10. Corel draw was also used to create the different lcars and alien screens seen on the various star trek shows (maybe not a 100% correct - consider this artistic freedom).
i hold a ph.d. in chemistry and after Working in corporate it for almost 25 years, I took advantage of an early retirement in 2024 allowing me to henceforth focus on my passion.

do you share your files ?
no ! I do not intend to share/sell any of my 2D/3d ORiginal files. it took me around 30 years to create all the content shown on this website and while still recovering from two strokes in 2024, i hope to create even more and as long as i can. you may download all images for your own personal enjoyment, however, without modification please (except for rescaling). in particular, you must not remove the barcode if present in the image (it contains a direct link to this website).
do you create personalized files ?
I did receive some feedback ... I really like your ships but can you rename her To uss XYZ... . in fact, i can !
